Terms of Service
The rules that keep Sharelum fair for sellers and testers, written in plain words. Each section starts with a one-line summary.
01
What Sharelum is
In short: A community where real testers test products and file honest test reports — not a store, not a review service, and not part of any marketplace.
Sharelum connects sellers who want honest feedback on their products with testers who try those products and report what they really think. Testers earn lum for completing a test and filing a test report inside Sharelum; sellers spend lum to ask for tests.
These terms cover sharelum.com, app.sharelum.com and books.sharelum.com (together, "Sharelum"). By creating an account, joining the waitlist or using Sharelum, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
02
Independence and trademarks
In short: Sharelum is independent. Marketplace names are used only to say which marketplace a product is sold on.
Sharelum is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored or approved by Amazon or SHEIN or any other marketplace, and does not act for them. We never ask for your marketplace password, and nothing on Sharelum is a marketplace's own page.
Amazon, SHEIN and other marketplace names are trademarks of their owners. We use them only to describe where a product is sold, as plain text, and never in our name, logo or web addresses.
Each marketplace's own terms and review rules apply to anything you do there. Knowing and following them is your responsibility, not Sharelum's.
03
Your account
In short: You must be 18+, use one account, and keep your login safe.
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- One account per person. Duplicate, shared or automated accounts may be closed.
- Testers add the link to their public marketplace profile before their first test, and a moderator verifies it. Each profile belongs to one Sharelum account; it shows you are one real person, nothing more.
- Give accurate details and keep them up to date. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password private.
- Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has accessed your account.
04
What lum pays for
In short: Lum pays for a completed test and an honest test report filed in Sharelum — never for a public review, and never for a rating.
You earn lum for completing a test: using the product as the request asks and filing a test report inside Sharelum (a 1–5 rating and written feedback, with photos or a video where the request asks), which our moderators verify.
- Lum is never paid for a public review on Amazon or SHEIN or anywhere else. A public review is optional: it is never required, never a condition of lum, and its wording and stars are never checked. Adding a link to one changes nothing.
- Lum never depends on your rating. A one-star report earns exactly what a five-star one does.
- Testers never buy the product: it is given to them free (a sample the seller ships, or a free advance copy).
05
Disclosing a free item
In short: If you post a public review of an item you got through Sharelum, you must say so.
When you file a test report, you agree that if you post a public review of that product — on a marketplace, social media or anywhere else — you will clearly say you received it free through Sharelum, and write what you really think. The report form gives you a sentence to use: “I received this product free to test through Sharelum.”
This disclosure is required by law in many places (in the US, by the FTC's rules on endorsements and consumer reviews) and by many marketplaces. Posting a review without it breaks these terms. Whether a marketplace accepts reviews of free items at all is set by its own rules, which you are responsible for following.
06
Honest feedback only
In short: Real use, your own words, and nothing that buys or bends an opinion.
- Testers must actually use the product before reporting on it and write in their own words. Fake, copied or AI-generated-without-use reports are not allowed.
- You can't test your own products, and testers can't test products from sellers who have tested theirs, so every report stays independent.
- Moderators judge a report on honesty, detail and real use — never on its rating, and never on whether a public review exists. They never ask you to change your rating.
07
What sellers may not do
In short: Sellers pay for honest tests, not reviews, and can't influence what testers say.
A seller may not:
- ask for, pressure for or reward a positive rating, or ask for a public review at all;
- see a test report, or its rating, before our moderators have verified it;
- contact a tester — on Sharelum or anywhere else — to change, remove or influence a review or report;
- offer a tester anything beyond the free product and the lum set by the request (no money, refunds, gifts, discounts or extra lum);
- use Sharelum to collect, buy or manipulate reviews on Amazon or SHEIN or any other site.
Breaking these rules can mean requests are cancelled, lum is reversed, and the account is closed.
08
Listing products
In short: Every product is checked by our team before testers can see it.
- You may only list products you own or are authorised to promote, with an accurate title, description and marketplace link.
- When you add a product, you confirm that you own its listing or have the right to use its photos and text, and that you are the seller (or authorised by them). We record when you confirmed it.
- Every new product starts as a draft and appears in the library only after our team approves it. We may reject or remove any product without giving a reason.
- No illegal, unsafe, counterfeit, adult or misleading products.
- You provide the product free to testers, and any shipping is your cost.
- You let us show your product details (title, cover, description, link) inside Sharelum so testers can find it.
09
Lum and requests
In short: Lum is a credit inside Sharelum — no cash value, can't be bought, sold, withdrawn or transferred.
Lum only exists inside Sharelum. It has no cash value, can't be bought, can't be exchanged for money or withdrawn, can't be transferred to another person, and can't be redeemed outside the platform.
- When you open a test request, its full cost (cost per test × goal) is set aside from your balance up front.
- The cost per test (from 400 lum) depends on the time the product takes to read or use, what the test report must include and the turnaround. It never depends on the rating or on the product's price. The exact amount is shown to the seller before they pay and to the tester before they claim, and it doesn't change afterwards.
- A tester with a verified profile badge receives the full cost per test in lum the moment they claim; it is theirs to keep once a moderator verifies the test report. A claim whose report is rejected, or that expires or is cancelled, has that lum taken back, and the slot goes back to the request.
- When a request closes, unused slots are refunded to the seller in lum.
- Bonuses: 50 lum when you join, 2,000 lum when a person who joined with your referral link has their first test report verified, and 10 lum for a community post.
Every movement of lum is recorded. We may correct mistakes and reverse lum earned by breaking these terms. Lum in a suspended account is frozen, and lum obtained through fraud is forfeited.
10
How tests work
In short: A verified profile badge opens the platform. Claim, and the lum is paid at once — moderators verify the report (it's yours to keep), ask for changes, or reject it (it's taken back).
- Each test has a deadline that depends on the product: digital products (free ebooks, files) have up to 3 days; physical products have 30 days (45 when the seller asks for a month of use) for delivery and real use. You can extend it once (3 days for digital, 14 for physical), or cancel it with a reason.
- There are limits on claims — 8 in any 7 days and 5 open at once — so products reach many different testers and each gets real use.
- You add your public marketplace profile and a moderator verifies it. That badge is what lets you use the platform. Without it, the library, tests and requests stay closed.
- Moderators read each test report. They can verify it (the lum paid when you claimed is yours to keep), ask for changes, or reject it (the lum is taken back).

Plans, the waitlist offer and billing
In short: The first 200 members invited from the waitlist get 3 months free, then $5/month for life. Everyone else: a 7-day free trial, then $10/month.
While we open up, public signup is closed. You can join the waitlist; we invite people in batches, in order, and friends who join with your link move you up. Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee an invite.
- The first 200 members invited from the waitlist get 3 months of full access free, with no card needed, plus 1,600 starter lum.
- After the free period, waitlist members can continue at $5/month for as long as their subscription stays active. If you cancel later, the waitlist price isn't kept.
- Invite links are personal, single-use and expire.
Everyone else starts with a 7-day free trial, then pays $10/month. Prices are shown before you pay and may change for future billing periods with notice. The subscription pays for membership; it never buys reviews, ratings or lum.
- Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. They handle your card details, receipts and sales tax; we never see or store your full card number.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Billing; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- If you're not happy, contact us within 30 days of your first payment for a refund. A refunded payment ends the subscription and suspends the account, since the service was used and paid back.
12
Community and content
In short: Be kind, post your own content, and we may remove anything that breaks the rules.
You keep ownership of what you post (test reports, posts, comments, images). You give Sharelum a licence to host and show it inside the service so it works as intended, including showing a verified test report to the seller of that product.
- No harassment, hate, spam, scams, personal data of others or content you don't have rights to.
- We may remove content or limit accounts that break these rules.
- Video shorts are coming soon and are not part of the service yet.
13
Trademark, copyright and other notices
In short: Think something on Sharelum infringes your rights? Tell us at [email protected].
If you believe content on Sharelum infringes your trademark, copyright or other rights — or that a listing, report or account breaks these terms — email [email protected] with: your name and contact details, the rights you hold (or act for), the exact page or content (its link), why you believe it infringes, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them.
We review every notice, remove or disable content where it is warranted, tell the member concerned where appropriate, and act on repeat infringers. A member who believes their content was removed by mistake can reply to us at the same address.
14
Closing an account
In short: You can leave anytime; we may suspend accounts that break these terms.
You can close your account yourself in Settings → Security. We ask for your password, and for a current two-factor code or a recovery code when two-factor authentication is on. Email [email protected] when you can’t sign in and we’ll close it within 30 days. Closing an account signs you out everywhere, cancels your subscription, clears your lum balance (including lum set aside for open requests) and removes your name, email, password, two-factor setup, passkeys and profile link. You can register again with the same email. Open tests are cancelled. A test report that was already verified stays on the other member’s record under the name “Former member”.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, harms other members or puts the service at risk. Where it's fair and safe to do so, we'll tell you why.
Our automated fraud checks suspend an account at once when they see signs of abuse — for example a marketplace profile or test report text already used by another account, a public review link given on two tests, a report filed faster than the product can be used, several rejected reports in a short time, an email that is an alias of an existing account, unusual request volume, or a refunded or disputed payment. A suspended account is signed out and can't sign in; its open tests are cancelled without payment and its open requests are closed, with unused slots refunded to its balance. Contact us at [email protected] to appeal — a person reviews every appeal and can lift the suspension.
15
Disclaimers and liability
In short: We work hard to keep Sharelum running well, but we can't promise reviews, sales or rankings.
Sharelum is provided "as is". We don't guarantee any number of tests, any rating, any public review, more sales or better ranking. What a marketplace publishes or removes is its own decision.
Products are supplied by sellers, not by us; any issue with a product itself is between the seller and the tester.
To the extent the law allows, Sharelum isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
16
Changes and contact
In short: If these terms change in a way that matters, we tell you first.
We update these terms as the product changes. If a change materially affects you, we'll let you know by email or in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
